Colin Cowherd's harsh Aaron Rodgers criticism proves Jets aren't Super Bowl favorites

It's time to come back to reality.

There is no doubt that the New York Jets have a very talented roster heading into 2024. Some might even say that they are a true threat to the Buffalo Bills in terms of fighting for the AFC East. Last year, the Jets managed to upset the Bills in Week 1 after Aaron Rodgers went down with a torn achilles. The Jets are built to beat the Bills with the way their roster is shaped but they always seem to hit some bad luck that messes up their season.

Heading into 2024, there are a great number of people who think that the Jets will thrive and take over the division. On paper, they arguably have the roster in the division. However, not everyone thinks that the Jets are going to be as great as they look.

Colin Cowherd from “The Herd” provided major criticism about Rodgers and compared him to the Madden video game of playing on All-Madden mode rather than rookie mode, leaning towards the angle of being more “difficult and disruptive”.

Cowherd discussed the offseason drama that Rodgers was involved in, which includes missing mandatory minicamp and playing down his absence.

The Jets should not be taken serious in 2024

Look, this is not to say that the Jets don’t have talent. They have excellent young players on both sides of the ball and quite frankly, they look like a playoff team. However, they will only go as far as their quarterback takes them. A team who does not have a talented and reliable quarterback usually doesn’t have success. Rather than hearing great news with the Jets and Rodgers, we are consistently hearing some sort of new rumor that is a bad look on Rodgers.

It is time to come back to reality and realize that the Jets are setting themselves up for a huge failure of a season if the script doesn’t go as planned. Right now, it looks like the Jets will go far on paper because of their talent. However, we all know that it is about what happens on the field and the Jets have yet to prove anything that should make us think that they will take the next step forward.
