While the NFL schedule is set to be released officially on Wednesday night at 8PM, we have learned various primetime games in the first two weeks that will be taking place. The Buffalo Bills are set to head down to Miami to take on the Dolphins on Thursday night in Week 2 of the season. This will be the first game on NFL Amazon Prime and it could not be a better start. Adam Schefter was the first to report the news. It was then officially confirmed from the Bills’ “X” account that the game will take place in Miami.

Last season, the Bills hosted the Dolphins in Week 4 in Orchard Park where they dominated Miami 48-20. Then in Week 18, for the AFC East championship, the Bills made a comeback against the Dolphins in the 4th quarter and ultimately stole the division from the Dolphins with a 21-14 win that gave the Bills the #2 seed in the AFC playoffs.

The last time the Bills played in Miami early on in the season was back in 2022, where the scorching heat caused a massive problem for the Bills’ health and Miami ended up stealing a 21-19 victory. While the Bills are back in South Florida early on, it will take place at night so the sun won’t be out which takes away an advantage for the Dolphins.

With Buffalo heading on the road the second week, this could mean that the Bills are opening up the season at home. However, we have seen the Bills play in back-to-back road games back in 2019 when they took on the New York Jets and New York Giants at MetLife stadium. While this is a possibility, it is highly unlikely.

The Bills officially have their first game finalized from the NFL so now they know when to expect to head to Miami. The Bills have dominated the Dolphins since drafting Josh Allen. Buffalo has lost only two games against Miami since Allen was drafted and Allen seems to always have his best games against the Dolphins. The Bills will be looking to continue to squish the fish in 2024 and it will start with a Week 2 primetime matchup.
