3.) Bills' offensive line vs. Commanders' defensive line

The performance by the Bills’ offensive line could make or break this game for the Bills, and send them to 2-1 or 1-2. Don’t let the great performance by the offensive last week against the Raiders distract you from the fact that the week prior, they were horrendous against the Jets in MetLife by giving up 5 sacks. The offensive line has given up 7 sacks on the season, while the Commanders currently lead the NFL with 10 sacks.

This Commanders defensive line with Chase Young, Daron Payne, Jonathan Allen and Montez Sweat could change the Bills’ offensive scheme for better or for worse. Tackles Dion Dawkins and Spencer Brown will have a major tough task of protecting the outside of the pocket by fast and physical edge rushers. The Bills’ interior line may have to double team Payne and Allen which can hurt them if someone else on the defense gets free in the backfield.

If this expected storm does have an affect on the game, this could limit the pass and bump up the run game. The Bills offensive line is not built to run-block, and if they are asked to push around the Commanders’ defensive line, it could be a long game for the Bills offense.
