It's been a frustrating season for the Buffalo Bills, and from the looks of it, Sean McDermott isn't quite sure who to blame.

News flash: it's on McDermott, but that's a story for another day.

As we're all hoping the Bills turn things around en route to the playoffs, it's also appropriate to start looking ahead. When it comes to the free agency class in 2024, the Bills will need to let a few key players walk. Let's dive into six, specifically.

1. Tim Settle, DL

One of the biggest weaknesses on this defenses has been an inconsistent ability to stop the run, and Tim Settle hasn't done much to help that turn into a strength. Settle is coming off one of his worst games of the season

In 281 total snaps this year, Settle has been credited with just five stops in all. Nearly half of his tackle attempts are missed and opposing teams are able to run all over him, with Settle failing to get off of blocks consistently.

2. Jordan Phillips, DL

You might notice a theme, here. The Bills may need to completely re-work their defensive line next season. Jordan Phillips has spent the last two seasons in his second stint with the Bills, and this year he's been abysmal, especially agains the run. The 31-year-old should be allowed to leave while the Bills revamp their front.

Going heavy on defensive line in next year's draft should be a priority, and that's putting it lightly. They'll have a much different-looking line in 2024, and that'll be a good thing.
