If you can believe it, we are now through day two of Buffalo Bills Training Camp. Today, Thursday, July 27, was a lot different than day one. Firstly, the rain poured down for a good 20 minutes. However, the loyal Bills fanbase stayed seated to watch their beloved Buffalo Bills practice. Thankfully, it stopped and turned out to be a nice day full of highlights.

Once again, there were no pads on as it was only day two. The practice was more of a practice today with more action and even ran later than yesterday’s. Bills fans will be happy to hear it was another clean and healthy day, which might be the most important update over the next few weeks. Here is what was notable at today’s practice.

Khalil Shakir Starts in the Slot Again

Through day two, second-year man Khalil Shakir was the slot receiver for the first-team offense alongside Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis. Deonte Harty was the second-team slot receiver.

Josh Allen and Shakir Connection Continues to Develop

Last year, in limited action, Shakir made some nice plays. The minimal amount of reps would lead you to believe Josh Allen and Shakir wouldn’t have much of a connection. That, however, is not the case. The connection is clearly there and continues to steam forward.

The team opened up today’s practice in 11-on-11 team practice. Shakir and Allen were ready to roll from the jump. Allen found Shakir for a seven-yard-out on the first play of the day. They followed that up with an eight-yard slant on the next play. Towards the middle of practice, the team went to 7-on-7 drills, and Allen hit a wide-open Shakir for an 11-yard touchdown.
