Deonte Harty flashes in first practice with Buffalo Bills

The Bills’ new speedy wide receiver Deonte Harty, showed out on day one. His speed and agility are clear to see. In red zone drills, he filled in as the gadget guy, as he took an end-around handoff untouched for a touchdown. Later on, in full team drills, Harty showed his athleticism, going up high to catch a pass from backup quarterback, Kyle Allen.

Khalil Shakir Gets the First Looks in the Slot

With no more Cole Beasley and Isaiah McKenzie, the Buffalo Bills slot receiver spot is open. Today, second-year man, Khalil Shakir, got the first crack at it. In full team drills, Shakir was in the slot, alongside Diggs and Gabe Davis. He made a nice five-yard catch on a low pass from Allen.

Trent Sherfield running with the first team

Sherfield was the number-one depth receiver on the boundary. He filled in for Diggs and Davis. He made a couple of nice catches and a really nice diving catch in positional drills. Josh Allen again spoke highly of Sherfield in post-practice questions

Tyrel Dodson with the first-team defense

With the departure of Tremaine Edmunds, the Bills have a hole at middle linebacker for the first time in five years. Today, it was veteran Tyrel Dodson who got the first-team reps next to Matt Milano. Dodson made a beautiful play in full team reps; he followed Knox in coverage across the field, then ripped the ball out of his hands as he was making the catch, forcing an incompletion.
