On Thursday, it was announced that the Jacksonville Jaguars starting offensive tackle Cam Robinson would be suspended for the first four games of the 2023 season. The first game he would be eligible to return in Week 5 when the Jaguars play the Buffalo Bills in London.

The Jaguars signed Robinson to a four-year contract extension last offseason after using the franchise tag. He is expected to be the starting left tackle upon his return but as the article on ESPN by Michael DiRocco notes the first four games Walker Little will likely start at left tackle, with first round draft pick Anton Harrison at right tackle with Josh Wells as the backup at the two tackle spots.

Could the Buffalo Bills trade one of their offensive tackles to the Jacksonville Jaguars?

The Jacksonville Jaguars may not look to trade for an offensive tackle right now but as they go through training camp and preseason, that might change. They are expected to rely on a rookie at right tackle and a player in Wells who has never started more than seven games in his career.

That is why it might make sense for general manager Brandon Beane to start laying the groundwork now in a possible trade closer to the season. The Bills have some good depth at offensive tackle with David Quessenberry and Tommy Doyle returning and signing free agent Brandon Shell to be the backups to Dion Dawkins and Spencer Brown. They also have Ryan Bates who could play some at right tackle if the need were to arise.

The fact that the Bills probably have to cut one offensive tackle, likely either Quessenberry or Doyle, the idea of offering one in a trade could benefit both franchises. If the two sides were to work out a trade, David Quessenberry makes the most sense as he is a veteran and has shown he has the talent to be a starter.

If the Bills are able to get a Day 3 pick for Quessenberry, it would be a great move because it gives them more draft capital while helping when it is time to cut down the roster. It will be interesting to see what direction the Jaguars take and if they are looking for a veteran, the Buffalo Bills are a logical trade partner.
