Buffalo Bills Rumors: Mitchell Trubisky signs new contract to return

One of the roster needs the Buffalo Bills were going to have to address this offseason was at backup quarterback. Last year's back up was Kyle Allen but he signed only a one-year contract and is set to be a free agent later this month.

It appears that wherever Allen is next season, it won't be in Buffalo as the Bills have a new backup quarterback who is a former backup. According to Mike Garafolo, the Bills agreed to terms with Mitchell Trubisky on a new contract.

Trubisky played in Buffalo in 2021 after four seasons with the Chicago Bears and would leave as a free agent to sign with the Pittsburgh Steelers. After two seasons in Pittsburgh, Trubisky was released last month and since he was released he is able to sign a contract before free agency officially kicks off.

It is a move that makes a lot of sense for both sides and gives the Buffalo Bills a veteran to backup Josh Allen.
