It was a busy day at One Bills Drive on Wednesday as the Buffalo Bills said goodbye to a lot of key players for the franchise. The group that was released included Jordan Poyer, Mitch Morse, and Tre'Davious White who combined for 266 regular season games during their time in Buffalo.
In addition, the Bills also released Nyheim Hines, Deonte Harty, and Siran Neal. They reportedly also were able to work out a new deal with Von Miller that created even more cap room.
However, they also were able to reach new deals on players from last year's team as well as some former players. These are some key news and rumors from Wednesday.
Buffalo Bills News: Matt Haack returns on one-year deal
One of those players who is returning to Buffalo is punter Matt Haack, who played one season with the Bills in 2021. He would have a career-low 52 punts for an average of 42.9 yards per punt.
It is an interesting move because Sam Martin is still under contract for the upcoming season but he could be released and the Bills would save $1.35 million in cap space.
While Haack didn't have great numbers as a punter, it is worth noting that Tyler Bass' best season in the NFL was 2021 when Haack was his holder. This could have been a factor in the decision to bring him back.
