Buffalo Bills Rumors: Free agent Austin Johnson visiting with Bills

It would seem that DaQuan Jones knew something with his tweet earlier this week about getting defensive lineman Austin Johnson in a Buffalo Bills uniform. On Wednesday, ESPN's Adam Schefter tweeted that Austin Johnson would in fact be visiting the Buffalo Bills.

Johnson was a second round pick by the Tennessee Titans in the 2016 NFL Draft but struggled to make an impact as he had only 13 starts over four seasons. He would play two seasons with the New York Giants and recently has been a member of the Los Angeles Chargers for the 2022 and 2023 season.

The best season of Johnson's career was in 2021 with the Giants when he would start every regular season game and had 3.5 sacks and 72 total tackles. The Bills wouldn't be looking to him to be a starter but they do rotate three to four defensive tackles throughout the game so depth is important and Johnson would be a good fit for that role.
