Buffalo Bills News: Troy Franklin meets with Bills ahead of 2024 NFL Draft

One of the ways the Buffalo Bills can replace Stefon Diggs is through the NFL Draft and fortunately, it is a very deep class at the position. At the top of the position is Marvin Harrison Jr., Malik Nabers, and Rome Odunze but unfortunately all three are expected to be selected well before the Bills are on the clock with the 28th overall pick.

Towards the end of the first round though one player that could be an option is Troy Franklin, who previously played for the Oregon Ducks. According to Mike Garafolo, Franklin made a number of visits recently and one of those included the Buffalo Bills but also included division rivals New England Patriots and New York Jets.

For the Patriots and Jets, Franklin would be an option early in the second round pick but the Bills would be in a position to select him before that. Over three seasons, Franklin proved he could be a deep threat with a career average of 15.5 yards per reception, including 17.1 yards per reception this past year. He would finish the 2023 season with 1,383 receiving yards and 14 touchdowns.

The Buffalo Bills really haven't had that type of deep threat for Josh Allen since the days of John Brown. It would bring a different dynamic to this offense that could really utilize that strong arm of Allen and force defenses to play even deeper which opens up the middle of the field for Dalton Kincaid and Curtis Samuel.
