The NFL Draft is quickly approaching and two weeks from today the 2024 NFL Draft will be officially be over. The Buffalo Bills have 10 picks over the seven rounds and the topics recently involving the team have revolved pretty much exclusively around the wide receiver position.

Let's take a look at some of the recent news and potential rumors around the Buffalo Bills.

Buffalo Bills News: Dion Dawkins caught off guard by the Stefon Diggs trade

The wide receiver position was going to be a focus entering the offseason with Gabe Davis leaving in free agency and the team clearly needing to upgrade the position. However, the urgency has only gone up after the team traded Stefon Diggs.

He has been the team's number one wide receiver for the past four seasons and a big part of the offense. It seemed unlikely, even with the struggles he had down the stretch last season, that the Buffalo Bills would trade him before the 2024 season.

This appears to be the sentiment not only for people outside the organization but also on the roster. Recently, Dion Dawkins was on The Jim Rome Show and described the trade as a "haymaker, a blind haymaker".

He equated the trade of Diggs to what the Bills did a few years ago when they released LeSean McCoy right before the season. At the time, McCoy was also a big part of the offense and left a big hole with his departure.

Dawkins did go on to say that he trusts the franchise and as long as they have Josh Allen "anything is possible."
