Buffalo Bills News: Bills add depth at defensive end by signing Casey Toohill

The Buffalo Bills were expected to add to the defensive end position as they had only four on the roster. They were going to need more depth and players like Emmanuel Ogbah or Shaq Lawson could have made sense.

While the Bills still could sign one of those veterans, the team elected to go a different direction on Tuesday by signing free agent Casey Toohill. He is not a household name but had a pretty good season last year with the Washington Commanders.

It was the most snaps he played in his career with 495 and started eight games. Toohill finished with five sacks, seven QB hits, and six tackles for a loss. He is a younger defensive end as he will be turning 28 shortly before the 2024 season.

At this point, the expectations should be is that Toohill will be competing with Kingsley Jonathan for a spot in the rotation. However, he isn't guaranteed to be on the 53-man roster.
