Buffalo Bills reportedly have an interview with wide receiver Roman Wilson
According to Ryan Talbot, the Bills recently held a Zoom interview with former Michigan wide receiver Roman Wilson. If the Bills were to draft a player like Cooper DeJean in the first round, Roman Wilson would certainly be an option for their second-round pick at number 60.
Wilson played four seasons at Michigan with 107 receptions, 1,707 receiving yards, and 20 receiving touchdowns. He finished with a career average of 16 yards per reception and this best season was his best but he still had only 48 receptions, 789 receiving yards, and 12 receiving touchdowns.
The lack of stats though could be due to an offense that leaned heavily on the run game. Wilson has great speed that allows him to separate from defenders on those deep routes. However, the biggest question is if the Bills have enough size if Wilson is the wide receiver they select with that early pick.
Right now, the top two wide receivers are Khalil Shakir and Curtis Samuel who are smaller receivers and have somewhat similar skill sets to Wilson. However, this might not be anything new for the Bills offense as in 2019, Sean McDermott described John Brown, Cole Beasley, and Zay Jones as Smurfs.
It remains to be seen which wide receiver, or wide receivers, the Bills draft next week but it is clear they are exploring all their options.
