Buffalo Bills Rumors: Austin Johnson reportedly agrees to one-year deal
The defensive tackle position looked to be an issue for the Buffalo Bills entering the weekend with only three defensive tackles under contract. However, DaQuan Jones began recruiting and it appears it has paid off with a new addition at the position.
According to multiple reports, including from DaQuan Jones himself and NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Bills are expected to sign Austin Johnson to a one-year deal. Rapoport reported the deal is worth up to $4 million.
Johnson is a former second round pick by the Tennessee Titans in 2016 and after four seasons with the Titans, he played two seasons with the Giants and recently two seasons with the Chargers. Jones knows Johnson well as the two were teammates for four seasons with the Titans from 2016-2019.
Austin Johnson is a good run-stuffing defensive tackle at 6'4" and 314 pounds. He is a great fit rotating with Jones for the one-tech defensive tackle position and is a big boost for the position.
