Buffalo Bills to play the Jacksonville Jaguars in London in 2023 season
While the full schedule for the Buffalo Bills this upcoming season won't be announced until Thursday evening, the Bills did announce Wednesday morning one of the key games on their schedule. The Bills knew they were one of the teams selected to play an international game this season and now they know when and who they will be playing.
The Bills announced that it will be the Jacksonville Jaguars they will be playing at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium on October 8th. This will be the Jaguars' second consecutive game in London as they play the Atlanta Falcons the week prior to their game with the Buffalo Bills.
Jacksonville Jaguars have been a problem for the Buffalo Bills
This will be the second game played over in London in Buffalo Bills franchise history and their first game was also against the Jaguars in the 2015 season. The Bills would fall behind by double-digit points in the first half but take the lead late in the fourth quarter due to a second half comeback.
Unfortunately, the Jaguars would take the lead back after Blake Bortles found Allen Hurns for a 31-yard touchdown. The Buffalo Bills would lose by a final score of 34-31.
The Buffalo Bills have certainly changed since that game as Rex Ryan was the head coach, EJ Manuel was the quarterback and there is no player from that team still on the roster. While the two teams are very different, the Bills struggles with the Jaguars has continued.
The last time the two teams played was in 2021 and it was one of the worst offensive performances during the Sean McDermott era. The Bills wouldn't be able to score a touchdown and would lose 9-6 in what was only the second win, and last win, in the NFL for Urban Meyer as head coach.
The storyline for this game should be much different as the Buffalo Bills are one of the best teams in the NFL and the Jacksonville Jaguars look to be a team on the rise after winning the AFC South last season. The Bills are no longer going to be heavy favorites and it should be a competitive matchup between two excellent quarterbacks.
