Julio Jones

The Buffalo Bills added a number of wide receivers this offseason with signing free agents Deonte Harty and Trent Sherfield as well as drafting Justin Shorter in the fifth round of the 2023 NFL Draft. They also signed four wide receivers as undrafted free agents last week.

This offseason the Buffalo Bills have been discussed as potential landing spots for wide receivers like Odell Beckham Jr. and DeAndre Hopkins, but neither has happened at this point. If the team wants to add a veteran wide receiver, there is one still out there that at one time was the best at his position in the NFL.

Julio Jones was an incredible wide receiver that would usually require double teams every play. He had six straight Pro Bowl nominations from 2014 to 2019, led the league in receiving yards twice, and in his career has over 13,600 receiving yards.

Unfortunately, injuries have been a major problem for Jones the past few years during one-year stops with the Tennessee Titans and Tampa Bay Buccaneers with 14 missed games the past two seasons.

At 34 years old, it remains to be seen how much Julio Jones has left but it could make sense for the Buffalo Bills to have a veteran backup that could occasionally get on the field in certain packages. As for Jones, he gets a chance to play with one more great quarterback and maybe get the only thing missing from his Hall of Fame career, a Super Bowl championship.
