The NFL schedule is finally released and we now know when the Buffalo Bills will play their opponents. To kick off their 2024 season, the Bills will open up at home against Kyler Murray and the Arizona Cardinals. However, the Bills are going to have a rough start to the season with four of their six games being on the road (and three of the six games being in prime time). Once that stretch is over, the Bills get a balanced schedule for the rest of the season.

An important factor to look at when viewing the schedule is when the bye week takes place. The Bills will play 17 games with just one week to get some full rest without having to plan for their next opponents immediately. There are pros and cons as to when a team should have it.

The Bills get the perfect setup for a bye week in 2024.

Buffalo’s bye week will take place in Week 12, in between the middle and end of November. The reason why it is perfect is because of who the Bills play before and after the bye. Before their bye week, the Bills will host Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs in Buffalo at 4:25pm EST.

Even though the Chiefs have the Bills’ number in the playoffs, the Bills have defeated the Chiefs in the regular season for the past three seasons. Not to mention, the Bills will have the home-field advantage and will want to go into the bye week with a win.

Then after the bye week, the Bills are back in prime time on Sunday night and will host the San Francisco 49ers. Sean McDermott has never lost after a bye week in his tenure with the Bills, and now he will have extra time to prepare for the defending NFC champions in this December 1st matchup.
