Ed Oliver - Defensive MVP
This one was difficult to call. Several players have made some great plays through the first four games, including Terrel Bernard and Gregory Rousseau. Leonard Floyd leads the team in sacks with 3.5, followed by three others with three sacks apiece. Micah Hyde is the team leader in interceptions, but Ed Oliver has been a dominant and game-wrecking force in the middle of the Bills defensive line.
When Oliver disrupts the interior, it makes everyone else's job on this defense easier. Teams have to account for Oliver now, which makes life easier for those edge defenders and linebackers. Matt Milano and Terrel Bernard have been able to fly all over the field making huge splash plays. Oliver is one of those with three sacks, but he also has six tackles for a loss, which ranks second in the league.
