Buffalo Bills: 5 key matchups vs. New York Jets in Week 11
By Brandon Ray
3.) Stefon Diggs vs. Sauce Gardner
Last year when Stefon Diggs and Jets’ star cornerback Sauce Gardner faced off in both matchups, Gardner looked like a star in the making by keeping Diggs under control. In the first game this season, it was Diggs who had a great game with 10 catches for 102 yards and a score. While Gardner did not give up a touchdown in the last meeting, he allowed 4 catches for 59 yards off of 4 targets, which included an 18 yard reception by Diggs.
Diggs has not been as effective the last two weeks due to the offensive struggles, only being targeted 12 times and catching 9 passes for 120 yards and one touchdown. While those are not the worst kind of numbers, they are not what Diggs is used to piling up in a stretch of games. Depending on how Joe Brady decides to operate the offense, Diggs could have a breakout game from the last two weeks or the offense could shift in a different direction.
At the end of the day, the Diggs vs. Gardner matchup is always going to be something special. However, the uncertainty of the Bills’ offense heading into this game will make this matchup interesting.
