Get the Buffalo Bills to the playoffs
The first one is somewhat out of his control but for Josh Allen to win the league award the Buffalo Bills have to get to the playoffs. Two weeks ago, the Bills were at 6-6 and were pretty far outside of a playoff spot but after wins over the Kansas City Chiefs and Dallas Cowboys they are right back in the thick of the playoff race.
It is far from a guarantee but not making the playoffs is a pretty significant disqualifer for the award. In fact, in the history of the Associated Press MVP award there has been only two players who won the award that didn't make the playoffs. That was back in 1967 by Johnny Unitas and then in 1973 when O.J. Simpson won the award after breaking the single season rushing record.
If the Buffalo Bills are able to win out, they are essentially a lock for a playoff spot and for that to happen Josh Allen is going to have to play great. The two seemingly go hand in hand and helps improve Allen's case for the award.
