Buffalo Bills: 3 reasons why Von Miller does not need to rush back for Week 1

Even though the addition of Von Miller earlier than expected would be great, there is no need to rush him before he is truly ready.

2.) The Bills do not have a lot of tough competition early on in the season

When you take a look at the Bills’ schedule and the first couple of opponents, they will be facing other teams who may not pose a threat to the Bills if they do not have Miller. With there being speculation that Miller could be back during the second quarter of the season, if you take a look at who the Bills are playing in the first four-to-five weeks, the Bills should be just fine with Miller’s presence (especially since Floyd is expected to take the other edge side opposite of Rousseau).

They face the Jets in Week 1, who are being very hyped-up to start the season but still need to mesh well on the field against legit competition. Then they face the Las Vegas Raiders and Washington Commanders, both teams who have big questions at quarterback and are not expected to do any damage because of who is in their respective divisions.

Then as the season approaches weeks four and five, the Bills are set to face AFC on-the-rise teams in the Miami Dolphins and Jacksonville Jaguars. If Miller does indeed start to get that final push of getting back on the field, this would be a great time to get a defensive leader back in the lineup.

There may be some argument about the Bills’ Week 1 matchup against the Jets, but the last two seasons that Aaron Rodgers has played under center, it has not gone in his favor and it was not even close. If Miller is not ready for Week 1 against the Jets, there should be no worries.
