Buffalo Bills: 3 players who stood out in Week 2 against the Raiders
By Brandon Ray
1.) Ed Oliver
Literally, right from the first snap of the game, Oliver made his presence known when he took control of Raiders’ guard, and former Bill Greg Van Roten and drove him in the backfield which made Josh Jacobs trip behind the line of scrimmage for a loss of four yards.
Even though Oliver only had two recorded solo tackles, he was in the backfield for the majority of the game. He and DaQuan Jones brought the pressure on Jimmy Garoppolo on a designed screen that ended up being tipped and intercepted by Terrel Bernard. He also chased down Garoppolo in the back of the end zone before Garoppolo threw it away.
All game long, Oliver was either on or near the ball and through the first two weeks of the season, his contract extension has been living up to what he earned. With him helping stop the run, it allowed the defense to do what they do best and defend the pass. Look for Oliver to keep dominating the line of scrimmage going into Washington.
