Buffalo Bills: 3 players who stood out in Week 2 against the Raiders

The Buffalo Bills earned their first victory of the season with a convincing 38-10 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. From the second offensive drive and on, the Bills did not look back and only kept going forward on both sides of the ball.
They only punted one time and had no turnovers, meaning that the Raiders never got them off the field without allowing a score. Bills’ quarterback Josh Allen threw for 274 yards and three touchdowns while completing 80 percent of his passes, which makes it his fifth career game to have put up a similar stat line. Running back James Cook reached over 100 rushing yards in a game for the first time in his career, averaging over seven yards a carry.
On the defense, Matt Milano and Terrel Bernard came up big time with an interception each and the Raiders’ run game was non-existent against the Bills’ defensive line. It was a well-rounded performance by the Bills and they will look to continue their momentum heading into Washington next week.
Even though each player made an impact in some way, these are three players who stood out in the Week 2 victory for the Buffalo Bills.
3.) Spencer Brown
Since entering the league in 2021, Brown has been arguably the weakest link on the offensive line. Aside from battling through various injuries, he has had one of the worst pass protection rates since taking over as the starter at right tackle.
Heading into this game against the Raiders, the big test was going to be whether or not Brown could prevent Raiders’ edge rusher Maxx Crosby from disrupting the game and gaining momentum for Las Vegas. Crosby came up empty handed by not getting to Josh Allen once in this game.
In addition, Brown was also a contributor in the run game that not only got James Cook over 100 receiving yards, but also two touchdowns for Damien Harris and Latavius Murray. This was the kind of performance that the Bills were hoping for out of Brown and he performed at the right time going up against arguably a top five edge rusher in the league.
