Braydon Johnson went undrafted in the 2023 NFL Draft but was signed shortly after by the Buffalo Bills and he will now be competing for a spot on the 53-man roster this summer. Johnson played five seasons for the Oklahoma State Sooners and played in 46 games with 24 starts during that stretch.

He finished with 79 receptions, 1,314 receiving yards, and eight receiving touchdowns with an excellent average of 16.6 yards per reception. Johnson does a good job getting over the top of defenses with his speed and had 15 receptions that were 40 yards or longer.

How does Braydon Johnson fit on the Buffalo Bills?

Outside of maybe Deonte Harty, the Buffalo Bills don't have great deep threats at the wide receiver position. Last year, the Bills signed John Brown during the season to be that player that can allow Josh Allen to take one or two throws that keep defenses honest and have to account for those deep throws.

If Braydon Johnson can show that speed during training camp and preseason, it will certainly help his chances to make the 53-man roster this season.

In addition to his play at wide receiver, he also was a contributor on special teams during his time at Oklahoma State. This is a part of the roster that has seen notable turnover this offseason for the Buffalo Bills. If Johnson can impress the coaching staff here it would certainly help his chances to make the roster as a rookie.

At this point, Braydon Johnson would have to jump a number of players to reach that final spot on the depth chart. While it isn't impossible, it seems unlikely and his best chance to stay with the Buffalo Bills will be as a member of the practice squad with a chance to earn a roster spot in 2024.
