Eric Moulds - Honorable Mention - Buffalo Bills

To have Eric Moulds listed here as an honorable mention and not make this team is difficult for me.  In my opinion, a very strong case can be made for Moulds as the best receiver to ever suit up for the Bills.  When you look at his career numbers and compared that with the quarterbacks he played with, you can see why.

First, let’s look at his career numbers with the Bills.  He is second in receiving yards (9,096), second in receptions (675), and again second in touchdowns (48).  Now, let’s look at the quarterbacks.  Moulds played for the Bills from 1996 to 2005.  During that stretch, the Bills had eight different starting quarterbacks, which includes 15 starts with Jim Kelly but after that, the list spans Todd Collins and ends with Kelly Holcomb.

I could write a whole article on the career of Moulds and lay out a case for him as the best all-time Bills receiver but that’s for another day.  He was drafted by the Bills with the 24th overall pick of the 1996 NFL Draft and spent the next nine years with the team and retired after 2007, with one-year stints in Houston and Tennessee, respectively.

Moulds finished his Bills career with three Pro Bowls and two second-team All-Pro selections.  He recorded four 1,000-yard seasons and hit the century mark in receptions once in 2002.  Moulds’ career is a massive “what-if” based on the lack of quarterbacks and talented teams he played for.  Imagine the numbers had he played his career with Jim Kelly or Josh Allen.
