'Tis the offseason and what better way to pass time during the offseason than to make stupid comments? Buffalo Bills GM Brandon Beane didn't take kindly to the stupid comments that insinuated Josh Allen was overrated.
Beane spoke to the media on Wednesday and when asked about the anonymous NFL executive that said Allen was overrated, Beane responded with "There's idiots everywhere."
This is a fair response considering that Allen is the furthest thing from overrated. Sure, Patrick Mahomes is going to get the honor of being the best quarterback in the league, winning three Super Bowls will aid in that but Allen is either the second or third best depending on where people slot Joe Burrow.
Brandon Beane: "There's idiots everywhere."
Sure, the Bills got to the AFC East division title, their fifth straight, differently than they previously had. At one point, Allen and the Bills sat 6-6 on the year and were in danger of missing the playoffs altogether. They then pieced together five straight wins, stripped the division title from the Dolphins, and won a playoff game against the Steelers.
While the season ended in disappointing fashion, Allen was on quite the tear to end the season. Had it not been for a rough start to the year, we'd have heard his name in the MVP discussions more. The Bills would not have gone on that run had it not been for Allen's heroics, as the team was pretty beat up in the second half of the season.
Be that as it may, the offseason is a time for talking heads to run their mouths and calling Allen overrated is a great way to earn clicks. No one actually believes that Allen is overrated.
Hey, maybe Allen heard the noise and is going to use it as motivation to finally get the Bills over the hump that is the playoffs and make it to a Super Bowl.
