Bills vs. Dolphins final score prediction for Sunday Night Football in Week 18

The AFC East is up for grabs in Week 18 of the 2023 NFL season, and fans and bettors are treated to a wonderful Sunday Night Football matchup between the Buffalo Bills and Miami Dolphins. 

Miami is at home in this one, but the team dropped the first meeting between these teams in Buffalo – losing 48-20. That’s given the Bills a chance to sweep the season series – and steal the top spot in the AFC in the process. 

Miami is a three-point home dog in this game, but the team has been much better at Hard Rock Stadium this season, going 7-1 straight up.

I absolutely love the Bills in this game, and I picked them as my best bet for this week on BetSided. 

Why?

Well, there are several reasons, starting with the fact that the team is third in the league in net yards per play over its last three games while Miami is in the middle of the pack in 15th. That could be a major difference, especially with the injuries the Dolphins are facing. 

Miami is down two key defenders – Xavien Howard and Bradley Chubb – that will be sorely missed against an elite Buffalo defense. 

Not only that, but the Bills have dominated this matchup head-to-head for quite some time, winning 10 of the last 11 meetings. 

Miami is just 1-4 straight up against teams over .500 this season, struggling against elite competition. I’m going to focus on the spread in this game first since I love the Bills to win – and cover. 

With a spread of -3, we’d expect a closer game, but I don’t see this Miami defense holding up against a Bills team that dropped 48 points on it earlier this season. 

The total in this game sits at 48.5, but I lean to the OVER given Miami’s offense prowess at home (No. 2 in points per game at 34.1) and Buffalo’s recent surge. Plus, the Dolphins defense should be leaky tonight. 

Buffalo wins, covers and takes home the AFC East.
