Bills' Super Bowl Odds After Stefon Diggs Trade Take Small Hit

Rumors were circulating around the league that Stefon Diggs would be traded this offseason and news broke on Wednesday morning that the Buffalo Bills have shipped him to the Houston Texans in return for a 2025 second-round pick.

This is a blow to the Bills' who now need to find plenty of help at the wide receiver position before the start of the 2024 season. With that being said, Bills fans shouldn't panic too much yet. Oddsmakers still have plenty of faith in Buffalo and as a result, have shifted the Bills' odds to win the Super Bowl only slightly next season.

Let's take a look.

Before the Diggs trade was announced, the Bills were sitting at +1200 to win Super Bowl 59. After the trade was official, their odds took a hit, but it was only a small one. At FanDuel Sportsbook, their odds to win the Super Bowl have dropped from +1200 to +1300. When translated to implied probability, their chance to win the Super Bowl has dropped from 7.69% to 7.14%, a drop of just 0.55%.

That tells me a couple of things. One is that oddsmakers may have expected Diggs wouldn't still be on the Bills roster by the start of the regular season. Two is that they still think Buffalo can compete for a championship without Diggs on its roster.

The Bills also remain favorites to win the AFC with their odds dropping slightly from +130 to +160, which translates to 43.48% to 38.46%, a drop of 5.02%. While that's a more significant drop than their Super Bowl odds, they're still slight favorites over the Miami Dolphins and New York Jets to win their fifth straight division title.
