Bills get heavily humbled on SNF by Baltimore Ravens in Week 4

The dominant run that the Buffalo Bills had coming into this Week 4 showdown came to a halt as they were run over by the Baltimore Ravens. The Bills suffered their first loss of the season, losing 35-10 on primetime and will now turn their attention to Week 5. Right from the start, literally, the Ravens controlled this game against the Bills.

After Buffalo failed to get into scoring position on their first drive, they punted the ball to the Ravens who only needed one 87-yard run by Derrick Henry to get Baltimore on the board. Buffalo would eventually respond by getting on the board with a field goal, but the Ravens ran away from the Bills and never let them sniff a comeback.

This was a runfest that the Ravens had against the Bills’ defense. Henry himself ran for 199 yards, and the team had 271 yards overall. Lamar Jackson didn’t need to do much in the air, throwing for just 156 yards (but did manage to get two passing touchdowns). Buffalo’s defense never adjusted, but they were able to get one takeaway on a Jackson fumble that could have been a potential turning point of the game.

On the offense for the Bills, Josh Allen couldn’t get much going due to many factors. Receivers weren’t getting separation, the run game was nowhere to be found, the protection in front of him was getting dominated. Had it not been for Allen’s one miraculous sideline throw to Khalil Shakir that put the Bills’ in a position for their first touchdown of the game, there may not have been any highlights from the offense.

The Buffalo Bills got a reality check in Week 4

The Bills just simply didn't show up in this game. There was no rhythm, no passion, and nothing was working from start to finish. With this game having a great amount of hype leading up to it, this certainly was not one of the outcomes that fans may have had. The Ravens had the better gameplan, and they benefited from the Bills not making adjustments on the go.

The Bills now sit at 3-1, still on top of the AFC East though. This was the first of their three consecutive away game stretch. They will need to turn the page on this game and get ready for a battle with the Houston Texans next Sunday in Houston.
