We are just a day away from the Buffalo Bills taking on the Miami Dolphins under the lights on Thursday night. This anticipated AFC East battle kicks off the start of Buffalo’s games against the division. These games are always important because they can either give you an advantage if you win, or put you at a major disadvantage if the outcome is a loss.

Buffalo has controlled this “rivalry” for the past six seasons. Miami has only defeated Buffalo twice since 2018, despite having the better roster on paper. No matter how fast the Miami offense is or the skilled players they have, they just don’t have any answers to beat the Bills.

Going into this exciting game, both the Bills and Dolphins have injuries that they are dealing with. Buffalo has already lost cornerback Taron Johnson, who was injured early in Week 1 against the Arizona Cardinals. Aside from him, the Bills are somewhat almost fully healthy. When it comes to the Dolphins, they have some injuries on the offensive side and we have just learned that they will be without one of their playmakers.

According to Marcel Louis-Jacques, running back Raheem Mostert will not be suiting up for this game as he is dealing with a chest injury. This was announced by head coach Mike McDaniel. In addition, it was also reported that De’Von Achane will be a game-time decision.

Bills won't see Raheem Mostert, but should be prepared for Jaylen Wright

Both of Miami’s starting running backs are facing some injuries and they have already lost one. Now with Achane being a game-time decision, there is a chance that Buffalo will have to prepare for rookie running back Jaylen Wright and veteran Jeff Wilson. Even if Achane does play, it won’t be at 100%.

Part of Miami’s game plan that has been effective against Buffalo in the past is establishing the run to open up the passing attack. The Bills have been able to contain the Dolphins’ pass-happy offense before and they are looking to do it again. Now, they don’t need to worry as much about an experienced running back core. There is a great chance that Wright will be involved in the offense more than anticipated.

Even though Wright has speed himself, rookies go through growing pains. With the way the Bills’ defense has stopped Miami before, Wright could have a quiet game himself.
