2.) Tua Tagovailoa
If it were not for the firing of former head coach Brian Flores, who knows if Tua Tagovailoa would still be with the Miami Dolphins. Mike McDaniel has revamped the Dolphins’ offense that has helped Tua be successful.
The 2023 season was Tua’s best season when he recorded a career-high in passing yards (4,624) and touchdowns (29). However, he did have a career-high in interceptions with 14 picks (four games with two interceptions). Tua had the Dolphins in a prime spot to finally take the AFC East away from the Buffalo Bills. At one point, the Dolphins had a three-game lead over the Bills but they lost three of their last five games which included a Week 18, 21-14 loss to the Bills that was for the AFC East. In the last four games last year, Tua had either just one passing touchdown, the same amount of touchdowns as interceptions, or more turnovers than scores.
When facing the Dolphins, Tua is a quarterback who can lead the offense to a high-scoring matchup but if other quarterbacks had weapons like Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle, they would exceed expectations as well. While he has proven that he will more than likely be the future franchise of Miami, he still has a lot to prove.
