Clelin Ferrell

Similar to defensive tackle, the defensive end position has some big questions with players set to be free agents this offseason. The Bills still have Greg Rousseau and Von Miller under contract but Leonard Floyd, A.J. Epenesa, and Shaq Lawson could be playing for a new team in 2024.

The team will likely try to bring back either Floyd or Epenesa but won't have the cap space to bring both back. They will need more depth behind these players and Clelin Ferrell is an interesting free agent that could have significant upside.

Ferrell was the fourth overall pick by the Raiders in the 2019 NFL Draft and at the time it felt like a reach. While he probably shouldn't have been the fourth overall pick, he was expected to be a first round pick that year.

He played four seasons for the Raiders before joining the 49ers this season. This was probably his best season of his career as he had 3.5 sacks and 13 QB hits and could have been due to the fact that he had more talent around him.

The Buffalo Bills could offer a similar situation and Ferrell would be a well-rounded defensive end that can help rush the passer but also stand up against the run.
