James Cook

The departure of Devin Singletary cleared the path for James Cook to emerge as the featured running back in this offense. The second-year running back has looked great through training camp and continued that trend into this game against the Indianapolis Colts.

The Buffalo Bills would set him up early as he would get three straight carries that went for five yards, five yards (called back due to offseting penalties), then eight yards that would end with him in the end zone. The next drive was more of the same as he would get a carry that went for no gain before breaking off a seven yard run.

James Cook would only get four official carries but it was notable to see how well James Cook ran between the tackles. He wouldn't necessarily go down on first contact and showed shiftiness in the middle of the field but in the open field, like on his touchdown run, he showed the explosiveness that he had towards the end of the season.

The Buffalo Bills are likely going to still have a three-man committee at running back but James Cook should be responsible for upwards of 75% of the work this season.
