Gabe Davis

This is a pivotal season for Gabe Davis as he is entering a contract year but has looked great through training camp and continued that Saturday night against the Steelers. He had two receptions for 29 yards but the 35-yard reception that was called back was probably his most impressive.

On that play, Davis was going down the sideline and Josh Allen put the pass where only he could catch it. He was able to go up and bring it down while also getting both feet in bounds.

Last year, was a disappointing season in his first season as a starter but it seems like the struggles could have been tied to an ankle injury early in the season that never really healed. Now with him fully healthy, he looks like he could be in line for that breakout season in this offense.

Justin Shorter

After a forgettable first preseason game, Justin Shorter bounced back and had an excellent game against the Steelers with five receptions, 47 yards, and a touchdown on six targets. The fifth round pick is fighting for a roster spot and this game certainly helps his chances to make the 53-man roster.

This season, Shorter's best chance at seeing snaps will have to be on special teams but the Buffalo Bills could be forced to make changes after the season at the position with Gabe Davis set to be a free agent. This could open the door for Shorter to have a bigger role in his second season.
