In games like the Buffalo Bills had against the Pittsburgh Steelers on Saturday night, it is sometimes tough to find some positives from a game that was overwhelmingly negative. It is easy to overlook some individual performances in games like this where the Bills were basically out of it five minutes into the game with the Steelers taking a 14-0 lead.

Thankfully, in preseason games the final scores really don't matter and these games are more about player evaluations. The Bills had a few players that did some good things and stood out with their performances.

Josh Allen

The Buffalo Bills franchise quarterback played three series on Saturday against the Steelers and would go 7 for 10 for 64 yards which is a modest stat line but would have looked much better if it wasn't for penalties on the second drive.

On that drive, Allen had the offense moving down the field with a 15-yard completion to Gabe Davis followed by a 14-yard completion to Stefon Diggs, then another 14-yard completion to Gabe Davis after a one-yard run by James Cook.

Unfortunately, that is when the penalties started with an illegal block by Spencer Brown on a six-yard screen pass to Deonte Harty and then two plays later a 35-yard completion to Gabe Davis was called back due to a holding penalty on Spencer Brown.

It remains to be seen if Josh Allen will play the third preseason game but the game against the Steelers should be enough for the coaching staff to get Allen ready for the season.
