Sam Martin

One of the turning points of the game was late in the first half as the Buffalo Bills already up 21 points elected to go for close to a 50-yard field goal attempt. However, Bass' kick would be low and the Steelers would get a block.

It was an effatic block that would knock the ball 10 to 20 yards that created a scramble and the Steelers easily could have scooped it and scored for a touchdown. However, Sam Martin was in pursuit and did enough to stop the Steelers and have them fall on the ball.

Unfortunately, Martin clearly suffered a hamstring injury while running and this creates a big problem as the Bills only have one punter. The Buffalo Bills would find out shortly after if Martin could still play and he did just that with a 45-yard punt on the opening drive of the second half.

Thankfully, that would be the last time the Bills had to punt the ball but with the Steelers seemingly having a lot of momentum if Martin couldn't punt, or didn't have a good punt, it would have really given Pittsburgh that momentum.
