Over the past few years, the Buffalo Bills have invested a lot into their defensive end position with varying levels of success. They would draft players like A.J. Epenesa, Greg Rousseau, and Boogie Basham in the early rounds of the NFL Draft and then last year gave Von Miller one of the biggest contracts in free agency.

This offseason, the Bills waited to make a move and signed Leonard Floyd after the NFL Draft to be another piece in their rotation. This upcoming year looks to be a pivotal one for the group and these are the five biggest questions entering training camp at defensive end.

How much will Von Miller be able to do after his ACL injury?

The biggest question at the position has to be around Von Miller and his ACL injury. He suffered the injury against the Detroit Lions on Thanksgiving last season but has been optimistic for most of the offseason about his chances to return as early as Week 1.

Von Miller had a great start to the season and the defense was much better when he was on the field with eight sacks in 11 games. While the Bills will want him back, they also need to be smart and make sure he doesn't rush back too soon.

The biggest indicator of what the plan might be right at the start of training camp. If Von Miller begins training camp on the physically unable to perform list, it leaves the door open for the Bills to have him start the year on the PUP list.

If he is able to practice, he could begin the year on injured reserve or even play against the New York Jets but that designation at the start of training camp will be a good sign of the direction they may take.
