A.J. Epenesa - Defensive end/edge defender

Epenesa is another player who brings some fans with him. I know he had a career-high 6.5 sacks in 2022 but for me, I haven't seen enough to keep him around. The alternative is letting Boogie Basham go and keeping Epenesa, which could certainly happen. I know Basham hasn't done much either but he's only two years in and year three could be a breakout season, whereas I think we've hit the ceiling for Epenesa.

I think the Bills keep five defensive ends though and the talent and depth are too much and leaves little room for Epenesa. Now, the flip side is if Miller isn't ready to go in Week One, they could place Miller on IR after cut-down day, which isn't season-ending, and keep Epenesa for that depth until Miller is ready to go. If that occurs, Miller would be out for a minimum of four weeks. By then, there might be room on the roster to keep Epenesa, depending on other potential injuries.

Epenesa is one that I see in a potential trade package. Dealing Epenesa to a team that needs defensive line depth, but has some depth at offensive tackle, would make a ton of sense for the Bills to explore. The question is, is there a team in the league with too many tackles? Well, the Arizona Cardinals just dealt one away.
