There are many teams who face bad luck in the NFL at some point. Sometimes teams face more bad luck than others. When it comes to the Buffalo Bills, there is a curse that seems to hit them at crucial moments that ultimately end their season. Since 2019, the Bills have been one of the best teams in the NFL and have won four consecutive division titles. Every season, the Bills seem to find themselves in stretches where they play as the best team in the league, but then come back down to Earth with playing down to their competition.

While Buffalo had great times, they also faced some bad luck of their own that caused heartbreak for Bills Mafia. Heading into 2024, the Bills have a lot against them after significant losses this past offseason. They need to hope that these five nightmare scenarios don’t happen to them.

5.) Buffalo Bills suffer multiple defensive injuries once again

Throughout the season last year, the Bills suffered a great number of injuries on the defense that traveled into the postseason. In Week Four, cornerback Tre’Davious White went down with a torn Achilles that ended his tenure with the Bills. Then the following week in London against the Jacksonville Jaguars, DaQuan Jones and Matt Milano both suffered injuries that took Jones out until the end of the regular season and Milano for the entire season. In the playoffs, the Bills would lose linebacker Terrel Bernard, who had stepped up majorly in 2023, for the divisional round against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Buffalo showed that the “next man up” mentality can work and that there is an advantage to having a defensive-minded head coach. At the same time, the Bills cannot afford any more big-time injuries on the defense in 2024.
