1.) Sauce Gardner
Much like Wilson, Sauce Gardner won the Defensive Rookie of the Year award last season. After his first season in the league, Gardner put the league on notice with his true shutdown corner abilities.
In two games against the Bills last season, Gardner saw seven passes thrown his way, in which he had one interception and allowed only 35 total receiving yards. He was able to take a weapon away from Josh Allen and was only targeted twice in their second matchup against each other.
It will be up to the Bills’ offensive coaching staff to find a way to keep Gardner from playing lockdown and not allowing separation. Gardner could see some matchups against both Stefon Diggs and Gabriel Davis. If Gardner is able to hold his own ground, that will give the Jets an advantage to double team Diggs and prevent any kind of separation.
If the Bills want to get the passing game going, they will need to make sure their game plan for Gardner is ready to go.
