Great play call for Dalton Kincaid but Ken Dorsey overthinks in the red zone
On the Buffalo Bills second drive of the game, they were moving the ball almost with ease and got inside the five yard line and faced a 2nd and Goal. The play call by Dorsey was for Dalton Kincaid as he ran across the line to take a shovel pass from Josh Allen, a play that was very similar to what the Kansas City Chiefs run with Travis Kelce.
Unfortunately, Kincaid was just short of the goal line and the Bills had a 3rd and Goal from inside the 1. They would run Latavius Murray on that down and elected to go for it on fourth down. While it is tough to be overly critical of the third down play, the fact that Dorsey calls a pass play from this part of the field instead of just a QB sneak with one of the biggest quarterbacks in the league doesn't make any sense.
This has been one of the biggest issues with Ken Dorsey's play calling as he struggles with situational football. The Bills should absolutely be going for it on fourth down from the one yard line but anything outside of a QB sneak, even if the defense knows that is the play, doesn't make sense.
