Calvin Ridley
The Buffalo Bills knew very early in free agency, and probably before the period even began, that Gabe Davis was not returning to Western New York. On top of Davis, the Bills released Deonte Harty and Trent Sherfield was also a free agent.
The wide receiver position was going to be a priority and after all the other re-signings (Mike Evans) and franchise tags (Michael Pittman and Tee Higgins), Calvin Ridley was the best at his position. It wouldn't have been surprising to see the Bills try to make a push to add the veteran wide receiver to solidify the position.
However, the Titans would surprisingly end up being the team to sign him with a huge contract of four years worth $92 million. At that price tag, the Bills were smart to look at other options for the position.
Calvin Ridley had a productive season with the Jaguars last year with 76 receptions, 1,016 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. The problem is that he is going to be paid like a Top 10 wide receiver and he hasn't shown in the five seasons he played a game that he can consistently play at that level.
