5 Buffalo Bills who won’t make the 53-man roster in 2024

Even though the NFL Draft is still a little over three weeks away, free agency has started to slow down and the Buffalo Bills roster has begun to come into focus for the upcoming season. The Bills have made significant changes, more so due to players lost after releasing them or were not able to re-sign.

The Bills certainly are not done yet and have 11 draft picks in the upcoming NFL Draft and will continue to add more players, either undrafted free agents or veterans, leading up to training camp. However, with that said, these are five players who appear to already have an uphill climb in making the 53-man roster.

Darrynton Evans

Darrynton Evans was with the Buffalo Bills last offseason before being released at the end of training camp. He would have stops with the Miami Dolphins and Chicago Bears last season but was re-signed by the Bills shortly after the end of the 2023 season.

Evans was a third round pick by the Tennessee Titans in the 2020 NFL Draft but has struggled to see consistent playing time in his career. He has never played more than six games for one team in a season and has only 62 career carries.

The Bills currently have only three running backs with James Cook and Ty Johnson the other two players at the position. However, it would be highly unlikely that the team doesn't add another running back, particularly a veteran with the current position group. If that is the case, Evans would probably be a long shot to make the 53-man roster.
