Over the past four seasons, Stefon Diggs has been a key part of a Buffalo Bills offense that has ranked among one of the best in the league. He has seen a major target share among pass attempts and has surpassed 150 targets each season.

As important as Diggs was to the offense, the Bills felt it was time to move on as they traded the star wide receiver to the Houston Texans. This creates a big hole on that side of the ball and in turn, puts a great deal of pressure on several people within the organization.

Josh Allen

There is no denying that Josh Allen took a significant step forward in the first season that Stefon Diggs was with the Bills in 2020. Since that point, Allen has developed into one of the best quarterbacks in the NFL.

The great debate over the past four seasons has been whether Josh Allen has only played at that level because he had an elite receiver like Stefon Diggs. It is certainly a valid argument that Diggs helped jumpstart that development for Allen but at this point in his career he should still be able to produce at the same level without Diggs.

This season, Josh Allen will be under incredible scrutiny without his top receiver as he tries to put the debate to rest.
