Taron Johnson

While Taron Johnson is a nickel corner, he is essentially a starter for the Buffalo Bills defense as they play a majority of their snaps in the nickel formation. Over the past three seasons, Johnson has played 85% or more of the defensive snaps each year and has four sacks, two interceptions, 24 passes defended, and four forced fumbles.

This past season, Johnson earned second-team All-Pro honors for the first time in his career. The former fourth round pick is entering the prime of his career at only 27 years old and should continue to play at this level for a few more years.

Entering 2024, Johnson's cap hit takes a big jump from just over $7 million in 2023 to over $12 million this upcoming year. Among the players on this list, Taron Johnson probably gets the biggest contract extension but he should also get the longest in terms of years and this would give the Bills more flexibility in how they structure the contract and free up a good amount of cap space this season.
