Will Matt Barkley's injury impact the race for backup QB?

Once Josh Allen is done, the focus will remain on the quarterback position as Matt Barkley and Kyle Allen have each had one really good performance and one really bad game over the first two preseason games. The expectation for most of the summer was Kyle Allen would be the backup but Barkley worked his way into the discussion.

The battle should be decided on Saturday unfortunately one of those players is dealing with an injury. On Thursday, Sean McDermott announced that Matt Barkley would miss practice due to an elbow injury after he injured the elbow against the Steelers. However, McDermott didn't mention if he might be forced to miss the game this weekend but without a week of practice it seems unlikely.

If Barkley does miss the game, this opens the door for Kyle Allen to run away in the battle and secure the backup spot. However, if Allen struggles and Barkley is not able to play, it will be really anyone's guess who will be the backup this upcoming season for the Bills.
