Blocking Tight End

The Buffalo Bills have already addressed the tight end position in the 2023 NFL Draft with the selection of Dalton Kincaid in the first round. He is a dynamic tight end that should make the offense more versatile and give Josh Allen another playmaker to throw to.

He will join Dawson Knox, Quintin Morris, and Zach Davidson at the position for the offseason and these four will likely compete for three spots. The first two are going to be Knox and Kincaid but that third tight end has typically been a blocking specialist, similar to the role Lee Smith would play when with the team.

The problem is that Morris and Davidson are more like Kincaid in that they will not be inline tight ends and don't bring much in terms of blocking. The Bills could look to someone like Tommy Doyle, who was a fifth round pick in 2021 and is an athletic offensive tackle that could step into that role. This isn't a pressing need but it might make sense to bring different skill sets to the position.
