4 players already tumbling down the depth chart at Buffalo Bills training camp
Dorian Williams
Entering training camp, the middle linebacker position was expected to be a wide open competition with upwards of five players who could end up winning the job. However, early in training camp that competition seemed to be trimmed to four.
After one of the first practices, head coach Sean McDermott confirmed that third round draft pick Dorian Williams would be focusing primarily at weakside linebacker. The former Tulane linebacker seemed like a perfect replacement for Tremaine Edmunds with his athleticism but there might be a learning curve.
The middle linebacker position is essentially the quarterback of the defense and the person in this role not only needs to know their responsibilities but the players around them as they communicate the plays.
While Dorian Williams may not have truly fallen down the depth chart, the fact that he doesn't have a chance at a starting spot, outside of an injury, is the reason he is on this list.
