It is hard to believe that the Buffalo Bills training camp is almost halfway done but they will be holding their sixth practice this morning with only five more at St. John Fisher University and the "Return of the Red & Blue" practice at Highmark Stadium on Friday night.

This training camp was expected to be very competitive at a number of spots on the roster because of the moves they have made this offseason and the depth they have added. That has certainly shown to be the reality during this first part of training camp as some players have seemingly already fallen down the depth chart, and in some cases, it is not the fault of their own.

Greg Mancz

Entering training camp, there was expected to be a competition at right guard between last year's starter Ryan Bates and second round draft pick O'Cyrus Torrence. There was most likely going to be some kind of rotation at the position and that has been the case through the first part of training camp.

However, instead of Ryan Bates coming off the field he has slid over to center and replaced Mitch Morse for snaps. This could be to give Bates a chance to get reps snapping to Josh Allen and an indication that he is the backup behind Morse.

If that is the case, then this moves a player like Greg Mancz down the depth chart. He was with the Bills last training camp and returned towards the end of the season to the practice squad before being signed to a reserve/futures contract.

With Ryan Bates looking to be the backup center, Mancz is unlikely to make the 53-man roster once again.
